In a significant development, the Hemant Soren cabinet in Jharkhand has granted approval for the construction of 19 roads and 12 bridges under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana. The ambitious project, amounting to Rs 208.47 crore, will see an expenditure of Rs 166.1 crore from the Central Government, with the remaining Rs 42.37 crore contributed by the state.
The decision, made before the Lok Sabha elections, involves the revision of the plan for roads and bridges approved by the Government of India under Phase 1, Phase 3, and another scheme of the Centrally Sponsored Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Additionally, the Cabinet has approved an extra Rs 42.37 crore expenditure from the state share. Other notable decisions include administrative approval for the Jharkhand Municipal Development Project and amendments for house construction advances for state government employees.
